Dalek gegen Gewürzgurke – Danke BBC

Open Schnick. Also wandte ich mich an deren Support.

Hi there Tristan,

Thanks for getting in touch with this quite unique question!

Awfully sorry to hear that the Whoniverse was at the centre of a fight between you and your friend. And I’ll do my best to answer this question and restore peace and order to your flat.

A pickle against a Dalek…now that’s one I’ve never heard before. My first thought is, if the Dalek simply came upon a pickle on its own, it would probably just move on past it and not pay it any attention. They’ve never really shown any animosity towards non-threatening food, other than a Jammie Dodger in Victory of the Daleks, but that’s a long story.

As for a Dalek eating a pickle, I don’t think that would even be possible. In their current mutated form, they don’t have mouths or any way to digest food, and that’s even if you could get through their Dalekanium exterior.

If it was a fight to the death between the two of them however, I think that the Dalek would win that one. But I can only imagine the different arguments people would come up with for either side. And unless Chris Chibnall writes a pickle into an upcoming episode, we might never know the canon answer to that for sure.

(Oh and for the record, if it’s pickles vs Slitheen, the pickle always wins. Vinegar is toxic to them)

I hope this helps in some way Tristan, and thanks again for taking the time to send us in this question.

All the best,
